Greetings From the Chair
It is our great pleasure and honor to announce that the 139th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (AMPSJ) will be held during Wednesday 20 March and Saturday 23 March, 2019 at the International Conference Hall and International Exhibition Hall of the Makuhari Messe, and the Hotel New Otani Makuhari, all of which are located within a walking distance from Kaihin-Makuhari Station in Chiba City of Chiba Prefecture.
The meeting will be organized by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tokyo University of Science. In 2003, three years before shifting to a 4/6 year pharmacy education in Japan, our faculty moved from Ichigaya, Shinjuku Ward of Tokyo to Noda City of Chiba Prefecture, where we started our new research and education life. We are very happy to have such a wonderful opportunity to have the 139th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan in the same prefecture-Chiba.
The theme of this year’s meeting will be “Inheritance of Knowledge, and Its Development”. The goal of the meeting will be to share ideas and inherent knowledge and discuss new developments in the field including overcoming intractable diseases, strategies in drug discovery and treatment, and pioneering pharmaceutical technologies at the forefront of pharmaceutical science research. The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan is the largest academic society in Japan in the field relating to pharmaceutical science and technology, and the theme of this year’s meeting reflects new developments in the field.
Makuhari Messe is located close to Tokyo Disney Land and Chiba's Black Sand Beaches. It takes about 30 minutes by train from Tokyo Station to Kaihin-Makuhari Station. Makuhari Messe is the second largest convention center in Japan after Tokyo Big Sight. It is often host to many popular events such as the Tokyo Game Show, a tradeshow that brings video game enthusiasts to Chiba from all over the world. In the following year, during the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, four events - Fencing, Taekwondo, Karate and Wrestling -will be held here in Makuhari Messe.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 139th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan to be held in Makuhari.
