Greeting by the Chairman

It is our great pleasure to announce that the 136th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan will be held on March 26 (Sat.) to 29 (Tue.), 2016, at PACIFICO Yokohama in Yokohama City, Japan under the theme “Toward the Next Generation of Pharmaceutical Sciences”.

The Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (AMPSJ) is the oldest as well as one of the most prestigious meetings in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences in Japan. Approximately 10,000 participants are expected to attend this meeting. The participants will be pharmaceutical scientists in academia and industry, those who are involved in pharmacy education, pharmacists in hospital and community pharmacy, and undergraduate/graduate students. In the AMPSJ, there will be approximately 70 symposia, 1,000 oral presentations, 3,000 poster presentations, and 20 award lectures together with 12 special/invited lectures.

In addition to the above symposia, the 2nd International Symposium for Medicinal Sciences (ISMS) will be held on March 28 (Mon.) at Annex Hall in PACIFICO Yokohama. There will be 2 Plenary Lectures and approximately 40 invited poster presentations in the whole day symposium. The purpose of ISMS is to encourage the pharmaceutical scientists in domestic and international companies to interact and discuss drug discovery and development. Pharmaceutical scientists in academia are also encouraged to attend the symposium. The official language of ISMS is English. Please also see other English symposia and lectures in the program.

PACIFICO Yokohama is easy to access not only from domestic but also from abroad, because it is just only 30 min away from Tokyo by train. You can also use limousine bus services direct to PACIFICO Yokohama both from Haneda Airport in 35 minutes and from Narita Airport in 120 minutes. So we greatly welcome your participation from abroad.

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom and very beautiful in late March and early April in Yokohama and Tokyo. We hope you will participate in the 136th AMPSJ and enjoy the cherry blossom season in Japan.
