Greeting by the Chairman

The 135^th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan will be held for four days from March 25 (Wed) to 28 (Sat) at Port Island in Kobe.

Focusing on the “Health and Future Pioneered by Pharmaceutical Sciences” as its main theme, this annual meeting seeks to contribute to the development of safe and reliable pharmaceutical sciences by disseminating information on cutting-edge research, ranging from drug discovery to medication.

I would like to see the meeting become a venue at which people involved with pharmaceutical sciences from various perspectives will gather to discuss the field’s future in a cross-cutting manner. I sincerely hope that it will give us a good opportunity to stimulate each other toward further growth and development.

I want to especially emphasize that the 1^st International Symposium for Medicinal Sciences will be held on March 27^th as part of this annual meeting. By encouraging the participation of scientists in international pharmaceutical companies in attendance at the annual meeting, the symposium will function as an opportunity for interaction among participants from Japanese and foreign companies as well as academia. Therefore, the official language of the symposium will be English.
